Dr. Martha Paynter is considered a leading expert in reproductive health in Canada. Her book outlines the history of reproductive health and justice and the risks to reproductive justice in Canada. Media often calls upon Dr. Paynter when issues of reproductive health are encountered. Dr. Paynter founded "Wellness Within," a non-profit reproductive justice organization that focuses on reproductive health justice issues across Canada, with a special emphasis on incarcerated women.
